Three Amateur Poems [by Lewis Saul, Rachel Saul and Jordan Schifino]

MEMO FROM THE BIG G

Dear Whiskey-Tango-Foxtrot crowd:

Your tin-foil hats are melting
My glaciers
And dripping down your
Collective Consciousness
Raising hell with my hosts

You're mucking around in the mud
And I'm thinking about breaking my promise
To Noah
And bringing about a flood
A Hallelujah-type event that only

Four people will survive …
Malala and Greta, for sure; I'm still trying to decide on

The other two

Sincerely,

God (malevolent)

SYSTEMS
of
a
down

All about hierarchy
up down and all around

If we all just took a minute
or two
or sixty

to breathe

to get out of our heads and into our bodies

We would be healthier!

Pandemic free perhaps

Coincidence or puppetry

are as real as the

systems we made up

We need to break free
From the chains of duality

— Rachel Saul (my daughter)

Scrollin'

Swipe 'n scroll
It used to be rock 'n roll
Scrolls of sacred text
Trolls of each sex
Silently doing their bidding
God forbid we show our face
This anonymous world
Ever connected
Severed from reality
The forces in life
Media and the like
Manipulating us for themselves
Man, what a world
A world against itself
A world lost in mindless scrolls
Empty scrolls
Empty yourself of emptiness
Be full of yourself
Be yourself
And Be
For you
And me

— Jordan Schifino (my son-in-law)
