Maggie Wells in Free Lunch!

Maggie1

Six poems by Maggie Wells highlight the latest issue of FREE LUNCH magazine (Spring 2008). Here’s one of them:

A Plan or Suggestion

Were it not for your breasts
and high voltage hair the world
would not spin so glittery,
your ass a galaxy, thighs
the Milky Way. Behind your ears
hover clouds of buckets of purses
of pockets of pimples of hot. Cake
frosted pink, peaks of pure sugar
you’re baking for the heat.
Pardon me while I chuck
a bouquet at you, you’re next, you are next
the aisle wants your curves, walk fast.
