A new work by Lera Auerbach, the acclaimed composer (and frequent contributor to this blog), will make its debut at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall on Sunday, April 10, at 5 PM and be Tuesday, April 12, at 7:30 PM. The nw work is a string sextet entitled "Seraphim Caticles." The program also includesther Shostakovich piano quintet and Tchaikovsky's String Sextet.

In addition to composing (poetry as well as music), Lera Auerbach is an accomplised pianist — and is extraordinarily articulate about her own work, modern music, the traditions of Russian music, and the pleasures of performing.
