Not sure how many of us recognize Gyro Gearloose, a minor Disney character from the 50s — supposed to be a genius inventor but also very clumsy etc. Here he is:
I always thought Gyro was an early version of Bill Gates but recently I happened upon his authentic true life analog — the very interesting physics writer named David Deutsch. I recommend Prof. Deutsch’s books to anyone interested in way out science. And to anyone interested in way out science plus Gyro Gearloose …. heeeeeere’s Gyro!
