Matthew Zapruder is the author of three collections of poetry, most recently Come On All You Ghosts (Copper Canyon), winner of the 2010 Goodreads Readers' Choice award for poetry, and selected as one of the top 5 poetry books of 2010 by Publishers Weekly, and as the 2010 Booklist Editors' Choice for poetry. He has received a William Carlos Williams Award, a May Sarton Award from the Academy of American Arts and Sciences, and a Lannan Literary Fellowship. Currently he works as an editor for Wave Books, and teaches as a member of the core faculty of University of California, Riverside-Palm Desert's low-residency MFA in creative writing. He lives in San Francisco.

Eileen Myles was born in Boston in 1949 and came to New York in 1974 to be a poet. Her latest book, Inferno (a poet's novel) (OR books, 2010) chronicles the adventures of a female writer in hell, who is very much like Eileen Myles. Myles first became known to many people for her openly female write-in campaign for President of the United States in 1991-92. She received her poetic education at The Poetry Project at St. Mark's Church in 1975-77, participating in workshops lead by Alice Notley, Ted Berrigan and others. In 1977 and 1979 she published issues of dodgems, a poetry magazine which presented a collision of New York School, Language Poetry, performance texts and other likely aesthetics of the time. She co-edited the feminist anthology Ladies Museum (with Timmons, Kraut and Notley), worked as assistant to poet James Schuyler in 1979, and was a founding member of the Lost Texans Collective (with Nauen & McKay). Myles was was Artistic Director of St. Mark's Poetry Project from 1984 to 1986. Her books of poems, essays and fiction include The Importance of Being Iceland/travel essays in art (2009), for which she received a Warhol/Creative Capital art writing grant, Sorry, Tree (2007), Skies (2001), on my way (2001), Cool for You (2000), School of Fish (1997), Maxfield Parrish (1995), Not Me (1991), and Chelsea Girls (1994). In 1995, with Liz Kotz, she edited The New Fuck You/adventures in lesbian reading. She is a Professor Emeritus of writing & literature at UC San Diego where she taught from 2002 to 2007. The Poetry Society of American awarded her the Shelley Prize in 2010.
