Star Black founded the KGB Poetry Series in 1997 with David Lehman. Her most recent books of poems are Ghostwood(Melville House) and Velleity's Shade (Sarurnalia Books). Her collages were recently exhibited at John Jermain Memorial Library in Sag Harbor. She is a Visiting Assistant Professor at Stony Brook University's MFA Program in Creative Writing and Literature.
Meena Alexander's new book of poetry Birthplace with Buried Stones (TriQuarterly Books/ Northwestern University Press) is forthcoming in Fall 2013. Her volumes of poetry include Illiterate Heart (winner of the PEN Open Book Award), Raw Silk andQuickly Changing River. Her poetry has been translated into several languages and set to music. She has written the acclaimed autobiography, Fault Lines as well as two novels. She is author of the academic study Women in Romanticismand the book of essays Poetics of Dislocation. She is Distinguished Professor of English at the City University of New York and teaches at Hunter College and the Graduate Center, City University of New York.
Amy Lawless is the author of the poetry collection Noctis Licentia, the chapbooks Elephants in Mourning and My Dead. A 2011 New York Foundation for the Arts Fellow, her work has appeared in a number of jounals; a poem co-written with Angela Veronica Wang will appear in Best American Poetry 2013. She teaches writing in New York City and blogs at amylawless.blogspot.com and Best American Poetry.
