WEDNESDAYS WITH DENISE: October 11, 2023

It’s not unusual to find poets writing about pop songs, but it is unusual for a poet to write an entire book centered on pop music.  Enter the very funny Matt Mason, the Nebraska State Poet, who writes poems that veer from nostalgia to wisdom via Prince, Blondie, Dire Straits, the Go-Go’s, ELO, and Journey. His latest book Rock Stars (published last month by Button Press) is a book of poetry with a fierce beat, a book you can dance to!
