Laura Orem, whom you know as our correspondent from Red Lion, PA, writes to announce a fine new literary journal, Praxilla. Here's what she says:
Praxilla
seeks to provide opportunity for writers to offer the deep insight that comes
only by wringing as much as possible out of language. We are dynamic, free
from the confines of physical space and temporal deadlines. Works are
published quarterly. Poetry and narrative are allowed to live and breathe as the
vigorous, critical (if always suspicious) forces they have played since the
beginning of human culture.
Our
exciting inaugural issue features poetry from David Lehman, Katy Evans-Bush,
Richard Garcia, Jennifer Michael Hecht, Terence Winch, Amy Tudor, Mary
Carroll-Hackett, Charles C. Brooks III, Cecily Angleton, Nancy White, Karren
Alenier, Richard Harteis, Dan Cuddy, Jim Cummins, David Schloss, Ed Zanhiser,
Ethan Fischer, Jeremy Hughes, Jody Bolz, Michael Graber, Sabine Pascarelli,
Sonja James, Yermiyahu Ahron Taub, Yvette Neisser Moreno, John McKernan, Yoko
Danno, and Maria Mazzioti Gillan; and prose from Deirdra Baldwin, Mina
Brunyate, and Phaye Poliakoff-Chen.
We
will be reading for our next issue from January 1- February 1, 2010.
