Brad Leithauser, Guest Blogger January 17 – 23

This week we welcome Brad
Leithauser as our guest blogger.  Leithauser was born in Detroit and
graduated from Harvard College
and Harvard Law
School. He is the author of five
previous novels, most recently The Art Student's War, five volumes of poetry, a novel in verse, two collections of
light verse, and a book of essays. Among the many awards and honors he has received
are a Guggenheim Fellowship, an Ingram Merrill grant, and a MacArthur
Fellowship. He served for a year as Time magazine’s theater critic. He
is a professor in the Writing Seminars at Johns
Hopkins University.
He and his wife, the poet Mary Jo Salter, divide their time between Amherst,
Massachusetts, and Baltimore,
Maryland. In 2005, Leithauser was inducted
into the Order of the Falcon by the president of Iceland
for his writings about Nordic literature.
